Hiring of Structural and Architectural Associates Deepens Technical Expertise and Client Service Offering
HOUSTON, June 19, 2018 – Rimkus Building Consultants today announced the hiring of two executives in its Chicago and Fort Lauderdale offices – Lawrence (Larry) Dorn and Anna Colesworthy, E.I.T. These hirings further increase the firm’s architectural and construction management depth as well as ability to serve clients in the Midwest region.

Dorn, an associate architect in the Chicago office, brings nearly 20 years of experience in architectural residential and commercial design as well as construction project management to the firm. He is a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture a Master of Arts in Integrated Building Delivery, and a Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering and Management. In addition to designing and servicing projects across Illinois, Dorn guest lectures at a class on Construction Methods and Cost Estimating while supporting students pursuing their doctorates.
Colesworthy, an associate engineer in the Fort Lauderdale office, has structural design experience with wood (light frame), structural steel, light gage steel and reinforced concrete. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structures from North Carolina State University. Colesworthy has worked predominantly in residential design evaluating and repairing home damages and additions, and has also assisted in the design of wood framed apartment complexes, steel framed office buildings, concrete foundations for prefabricated metal buildings, and commercial warehouse and office spaces. Additionally, she has worked extensively with the International Building Code as well as AISC (steel), ACI (concrete), and NDS (wood) design guides.
