Ms. Bemis is a 2017 engineering graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structures. Her structural design experiences has included prestressed and reinforced concrete, and structural steel.
Ms. Bemis’ undergraduate research focused on finite element analyses on nuclear casks, concrete structures and steel bridges using programs such as Abaqus and SAP2000. Her field experience focused on designing prestressed reinforced concrete to coincide with ACI and PCI construction standards, generating shop drawings for concrete manufacturing, quality control and loading. Additionally, Ms. Bemis has worked extensively with ASCE-7, various publications of the International Building Code, as well as local building codes. She is also accomplished in AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketch Up.
Ms. Bemis’ forensic work includes inspection and analysis of civil and structural engineering failures in industrial, commercial and residential buildings. Assignments have included inspection and analysis to support construction defect litigation, foundation and superstructure failures, storm damage, premises liability, geotechnical/structural damage assessments, product liability and equipment sciences, and deficiencies related to building code compliance for single-family and multi-family residences and commercial buildings.
